The project for the supply of **791 aluminum metro cars for the Tehran Metro lines** is considered one of the country’s major initiatives for expanding the urban rail transportation fleet. The project was launched as the first phase of the **Ministry of Interior’s national program to procure 2,000 metro cars through international financing**. The primary objectives of this initiative are to increase transportation capacity, reduce passenger waiting times, modernize the fleet, and enhance the level of service across various metro lines in the capital and other major cities.
In **2017**, an international tender was held for this project, and following extensive technical and financial evaluations, the contract for the supply of **791 metro cars** was signed in **January 2019** between the **Ministry of Interior** and the international consortium comprising **NORINCO, CRRC, and Tehran Wagon Manufacturing Company**. The project includes the **design, manufacturing, equipment supply, testing, commissioning, and final delivery** of **630 new metro cars** and **161 supplementary cars** for various Tehran Metro lines. Given its extensive technical scope, contractual complexity, and diversity of equipment, **specialized supervision and coordinated management of the manufacturing and technology transfer processes** are of critical importance to the successful implementation of the project.
**Behro Comprehensive Consulting Engineers**, drawing on its extensive experience in rail fleet projects and close collaboration with the **Municipalities and Rural Management Organization of Iran**, has been working alongside the Employer since the inception of this initiative. In recognition of Behro’s professional performance and technical expertise in the field, the formal appointment of Behro as the **Employer’s Consultant for the 791 Metro Car Project** was communicated to the company by letter dated **May 18, 2024**.In this project, Behro plays a key role in **technical document management, design and manufacturing control, test monitoring, risk management, quality assessment, and ensuring compliance of the manufacturing process with international standards**. This role contributes to enhancing the quality of the metro fleet and achieving the project’s broader objectives for the country’s rail transportation industry.
